Homemade Noodles

This recipe comes from Grammie Braday and was handed down verbally

Ingredients:

  • Eggs
  • Flour
  • Salt (optional)

Directions:

  1. Beat 2 to 3 eggs in a bowl with a fork until well mixed
  2. Add a little bit of flour at a time to your egg mixture until you reach a dough consistency
  3. Add a dab of salt if desired
  4. Spread flour on your surface, then roll out dough with rolling pin
  5. Noodles will about double in size when cooked, so keep this in mind as you cut your noodles
  6. Noodles can be dried, but they do not have to be

Topping for Jell-O

This recipe comes from Grammie Braday.

Ingredients:

2 Eggs, beaten 2 Tbsp. Butter
2 Tbsp. Flour ½ Cup Sugar
1 Cup Pineapple Juice

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until thick.
  2. Add 8 oz. Cream Cheese or cool first and add whipped cream.

Spread on chilled Jell-O.

Italian Hamburger

This recipe comes from Grammie Braday

Ingredients:

1 ½ Lbs. Hamburger ½ Tsp. Oregano
½ Medium Onion, Chopped ½ Tsp. Basil
1 Can Tomato Soup ½ Tsp. Garlic Salt
¾ Cup Milk Some Salt & Pepper (to taste)
1 Cup Cottage Cheese 1 Pkg. (8) Biscuits

Directions:

  1. Brown hamburger and onion; Drain.
  2. Add soup, milk, and seasonings and mix well.
  3. Stir in cottage cheese.
  4. Place in greased casserole dish.
  5. Put biscuits on top and sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese.

Bake until biscuits are done.

Biscuit Supreme

This recipe comes from Grammie Braday.    

Ingredients:

2 Cups Flour ½ tsp. Cream of Tartar
½ tsp. Salt 2 tsp. Sugar
4 tsp. Baking Powder ½ Cup Shortening
2/3 Cup Milk

Directions:

  1. Mix together the flour, salt, baking powder, cream of tartar and sugar.
  2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add milk all at once and stir just until dough follows fork around bowl.
  4. Pat or roll to ½” thickness on lightly floured surface.

Cut out and bake on ungreased baking sheet at 450° for 10 minutes.

Makes about 9 biscuits.
